Merry Christmas from Dale & Jen

Merry Christmas from Dale & Jen

Merry Christmas and a Happy, healthy, New Year to everyone. We hope you enjoyed your 2009 as much as we did. We have learned that God truly does open another door after He closes another.  Here is a quick update on our family…

Jenna left the school district and took on a new full-time position with Marian University in the School of Education as a Visiting Professor teaching classes for the Masters in Educational Technology. (Now you know why you’re reading our Christmas card in a blog). She absolutely loves the new challenge and working with teachers in a new capacity. She has become quite the ‘techie’ and is often found playing on the computer when she’s not busy as a work at home mom raising our two boys.

Jack is 3 and loves playing with trains (thank you Grandpa D, ‘papa’, for that). He attends classes at the YMCA for social development, but has become the most polite little boy we’ve ever known. (Yes, we’re a bit biased on that). Trentyn is in 5th grade and is doing extremely well in school. He has been scoring very high in all subject areas, especially in reading. He has discovered Agatha Christy novels and enjoys the suspense in reading them.  Trent is beginning his 2nd year of electric guitar lessons and is learning to play very well. He dreams of being a musician in a band someday. (We’ll see – mom isn’t ready for that yet).

Dale is teaching full-time in special education at East High School, but as all special education teachers need change to stay fresh and keep from burning out, he is considering a change in location and/or grade come next school year.   Dale spent most of his summer enjoying the golf courses and took Jenna to play a few special ones around the state including Whisting Straits. Although Dale enjoys a little competition, it was Jenna who shot her first 39 this year.  Dale enjoys his evenings with the boys, playing trains with Jack or dealing with the challenges of raising a pre-teen boy.

As a family, we enjoyed our camping trips to the north woods and western WI, a few weddings around the state, and our last vacation at the timeshare at Telmark Resort with the Linskens and  DeShaney family members. Dale and Jenna also took a 5 year anniversary trip to St. Thomas where we enjoyed a week of fun and relaxation.  Jenna and Jack also enjoyed a trip with Grandma D (‘Umm’ to Jack) to Florida to spend time with family during the cold WI winter.

We would like to send you all (((hugs))) and wish you a happy holiday season. We send out our prayers to our friends who have lost loved ones this year and to family who are dealing with health concerns, may you all find peace and comfort in the loving arms of our Lord.  If times for you have been difficult may you find your open door. If your times have been blessed may they continue to be.  Wishing you a blessed, happy, healthy 2010.
